The white horse of Wiltshire, located in Westbury

Welcome to Riverbarn, your home in the heart of the stunning Fonthill Estate. We know that planning a family trip means finding that perfect balance of adventure for the kids and comfort for the grown-ups. The wonderful secret of our corner of Wiltshire is that you’re just a short, easy drive from some of the UK's most iconic family attractions.

Forget the long journeys; our cosy, dog-friendly B&B is the perfect base to explore, relax, and make memories. We've put together our top 5 family-friendly days out, all easily reachable from your room at Riverbarn.

The Big One: A Roaring Day Out at Longleat

(Distance from Riverbarn: Approx. 25-30 minute drive)

It’s the UK’s original safari park for a reason, and it’s a must-do for families staying with us. Spend the morning on a drive-through safari, getting face-to-face with lions, tigers, and the famously mischievous monkeys. But the adventure doesn't stop there. The main square has a boat trip to see gorillas and sea lions, the famous Longleat Maze, and a wonderful 'Family Farmyard'.

Riverbarn Tip: After a huge day of exploring, you’ll be ready for a rest. Head back to Riverbarn, put your feet up, and let us cook you a delicious, locally-sourced meal in the cafe.
